WebAlways leave a few uncut in case of a mood. The first trade caravan that arrives you should trade for a few of everything: leather, cloth, a few metal bars. Don't use that stuff. At first I thought i didn't have everything it needed but upon checking my stockpiles of what she's requesting I have several of each and even ran 'showmood' in dfhack which says she collected everything she needed.

WebMy suggestion is to slaughter a horse or yak (or whatever you can afford to use this way), which should give you both more bones and leather for his mood. I had a few stacks of unicorn bone in that stock pile. Each were like 15 bones. Depending on the mood, he might have been looking for shells instead of bone. If the dwarf has a strange mood he has probably taken a workshop which if you query will list the objects or hints to objects which he needs to fulfill his mood. If he fulfills his mood good things will happen. If not, some form of FUN will ensue.
